Fic claiming and a rec (HD erised 2015)

I strongly suspect this could end up being my only post this year - judging by the frequency of my posting over the past 12 months - but I'm so excited: I wrote something! It felt so good to finally be writing again. Remember my desire to write a ficlet each month? In the end I wasn't able to do that, but I did have bits of writing from it that became woven into this fic.

I wrote The Kaleidoscope Charm, or Fifty Shades of Rainbow Magic for [livejournal.com profile] shiftylinguini.

Title: The Kaleidoscope Charm, or 50 Shades of Rainbow Magic
Author: omi_ohmy
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] shiftylinguini
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco, Ron/Hermione, Pansy/Neville
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: ~27,000
Warnings: None (except to say there is nothing remotely 50-Shades-y about this fic)
Content/Enticements: Pining, beautiful angel statues, complex charms, colour-coding, elemental magic, dreams, mystery and more….
Summary: Getting Draco Malfoy as a boss was not the worst thing that happened to Harry; getting a crush on him was.

Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] evilgiraff for working for about a week straight to beta this fic as I wrote it. You're the best, bb. <3. A huge thanks, too, to the mods for doing such an ace job. I've read about half the fest fics - I managed to keep up for the first two and a bit weeks - and look forward to reading all the rest over the next month or two. :)

FIC and ART rec:
Also I was gifted with The Deeper Significance Behind Golden Apples, by the amazing [livejournal.com profile] oldenuf2nb, which was a wonderful read and even incorporated some art! It has a wonderful Pansy, a sculptor!Draco (imagine how I tingled with the fact that I'd written a fic about a statue and received one about a sculptor for this year's fest), a past-fuck-buddies-who-were-more-but-were-in-denial trope (one of my new favourites), and a really well-written mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and if you haven't yet, I highly recommend checking it out.

It's so lovely to see your dandelion-against-the-sky icon! Welcome back! I myself really only post when I wrote something, and that's not much - I had a few short things this year (lots of poetry in them, but not many bees - a glow-worm though!)

And your story was utterly wonderful.

I still have several of the long erised entries to read.

Maybe this year I'll manage to write more than one fic... we'll see.

I'm looking forward to reading more erised fics - it's so nice knowing I have them waiting for me. For a while I thought I might manage to read all of them as they posted, but alas, RL was not cooperative. :D

This story was such a delight! I still have some of those images in my head. What you did with color was just so, so cool!!

Thank you. I had to draw out colour wheels and learn lots of new colour words to write this, I'm glad it was worth it. :)
