So, the
hd_fan_fair reveals are up, and I wrote The Haunting of Draco Malfoy. The overall quality of all the fics in the fest has been fantastic, and I have been so impressed with everything I read.
I was very pleasantly surprised to find that The Haunting has been nominated for the HP Fanfic Fan Poll Awards, in the Best Drama-Angst: Long Fic category. Excite! And a big thank you to whoever nominated it. :) There are lots of amazing fics nominated in a whole range of categories, with pairings from across the HP fandom, please do go check it out.
Title: The Haunting of Draco Malfoy
Author:
omi_ohmy
Prompt Number: #68
Career Choices: Peacebringer (Draco), On a career break (Harry)
Rating: NC-17
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco
Summary: After the War, there are many new ghosts, lost and uncertain, and Draco Malfoy has become a Peacebringer, working hard to help these and any other troubled ghosts move on. Draco finds himself stuck in a Gothic mystery of his own when a recently missing Potter appears, spectral and silent, at Malfoy Manor.
Warnings/Content Notes: Suggestions of possible main character death, but overall I'd say this is actually fairly gentle (if angsty).
Word Count: ~27,400
Author's Notes: I've always enjoyed stories with a hint of ghost, so I jumped at
citrus_lime's prompt. When it came to it though, this was hard to write, and I deleted and rewrote huge sections, until it was right. I think (and hope!) that the effort paid off and it works now. Thanks to my betas,
birdsofshore and
evilgiraff, for bearing with me throughout, and helping me make this the story I wanted it to be.
