Here's a Masterlist of all my fics, so far. Almost all are Harry/Draco slash; most are oneshots of varying length. The fics are listed by length, with most recent first in each grouping. I am only posting fics to AO3 now, some of the shorter ones are not posted there yet.

Harry Potter (Harry/Draco, unless otherwise stated)
Shorter Oneshots (under 10k) ), written for 2014 [livejournal.com profile] hd_remix. Harry Potter may be the one who dabbles in Muggle Magic, but it’s Draco who leaves him mystified. R, ~7,600 words.

In the Library
Written for [livejournal.com profile] hp_silencio, a dialogue-free fest, for [livejournal.com profile] icmezzo There's no talking in the library at Hogwarts, not under Madam Pince's watch. Unfortunately, there's only one copy of the book Harry and Draco both need for the Potions essay that is due the next morning, so they will have to find some way to share. Quietly. PG, 2,700 words

The Depths of Mystery
A birthday gift for [livejournal.com profile] birdsofshore Sybil Trelawney believes in the power of Divination. She believes she glimpses the secrets and mysteries of life. When she sees kissing, skin and… thrusting in her crystal ball, she will not look away. It is her duty to keep watching. Silly smut. Hard R, ~1,400 words.

Love
A gift fic for [livejournal.com profile] capitu. Love is your heart breaking, a little more every day. Sometimes it means letting go; sometimes diving in head first. But it is always worth it. PG-13 (if that). 3,280 words.

Love Flies Delighted
A gift fic for Penguindreams. A summer's day, bees, stings, magic and honey: basically this fic is fluff on little wings. A very soft R, ~2,400 words.

A Light Too Bright
The bright light of spring is all wrong for Harry and Draco; they are both haunted by their memories of war. Written for [livejournal.com profile] melusinahp's Hurt/Comfort Comment Meme. R, ~1,400 words.
on LJ | on AO3 | on ffn

By the Light of the Moon
Draco longs for the freedom of a midnight swim in the lake, but even in June it is a cold, dark place. With tentacles.... PG-13. 1,789 words.

Carrots
Draco tries to do one thing to impress Harry and his friends, but slightly misjudges Harry’s attachment to his carrots. Luckily, Draco is quite… attached to Harry’s, er, carrot, too. A very mini (unlike Harry’s carrots) sequel to This Delicious Solitude. Genre: Fluff, R. ~1,200 words.

Slugs and Snails
It isn't every day your ex-wife gets married. A gentle tale of love and gastropoda. (Written as a wedding present for [livejournal.com profile] saras_girl & originally posted in the [livejournal.com profile] wedding_eels communit). Sara's Girl gave special permission for well-wishers to use any of her characters/worlds; this is a shameless copy loving homage to Turn, the fic which turned me into a total HD shipper. Genre: Romance and fluff, PG-13. ~4000 words

Just a bit of info for anyone stalking reading my journal because they are writing for me in an exchange-type fest (everyone else feel free to ignore this).

Likes, Dislikes and Sex. )
omi_ohmy: (Default)
Last year I left it almost a year, this year I'm doing this the day of the reveals. This total inconsistency is very me.

I wrote Of Wands and Trees for Saulaie and korlaena, for HD Erised 2018.

I wasn't going to write for Erised this year (I had a lot going on), but ended up signing up as a pinch-hitter, being asked to write about TREES, and then writing 45k in a huge leafy rush. I enjoyed every second of it. Also there is some smut in the fic (also involving TREES), and it had been so long since I last wrote anything remotely sexual that I had to look up my own guide to writing smut. Which was very helpful! Many thanks to my beta readers ICMezzo and Evilgiraffe, although I still snuck some typos past them. Thanks too to the mods for modding, proof-reading, and dealing with extension requests (cough).

I will be back with a proper rec post for some of the amazing art and fic in this year's fest, there was so much that was wonderful. <3

omi_ohmy: (Default)
I wrote an Erised fic, oh yes I did. A year ago. I think this is my most late posting of anything, ever. But hello there, friends! Nice to see you. I think this might actually be my first time posting to Dreamwidth (and crossposting to LJ), too. I think all these things represent just how with the times I am - i.e. not at all. I am ancient, apparently, and it is not an accident that my fics rarely feature technology.

So, to the fics. Last year I wrote The Malfoy Conundrum. If you didn't read it then or in the intervening year, go read it! It's fun. Draco watches Countdown. Harry is depressed but finds his way out of it. Dudley makes an appearance.

Also last year I wrote a little off-shoot of a fic, Second Chances, about how Dudley and Gregory Goyle became friends (as mentioned in the Malfoy Conundrum). I wrote it as a birthday present for EvilGiraffe, It is again her birthday and so I posted it today.

So there you are, two fics to read.

Enjoy!
omi_ohmy: (Dandelion head)
I strongly suspect this could end up being my only post this year - judging by the frequency of my posting over the past 12 months - but I'm so excited: I wrote something! It felt so good to finally be writing again. Remember my desire to write a ficlet each month? In the end I wasn't able to do that, but I did have bits of writing from it that became woven into this fic.

I wrote the Kaiedoscope Charm, or 50 Shades of Rainbow Magic )

FIC and ART rec:
Also I was gifted with The Deeper Significance Behind Golden Apples, by the amazing [livejournal.com profile] oldenuf2nb, which was a wonderful read and even incorporated some art! It has a wonderful Pansy, a sculptor!Draco (imagine how I tingled with the fact that I'd written a fic about a statue and received one about a sculptor for this year's fest), a past-fuck-buddies-who-were-more-but-were-in-denial trope (one of my new favourites), and a really well-written mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and if you haven't yet, I highly recommend checking it out.

Hello there, flisters.

I thought I'd post to say that yay! I'm still around, and boo! where did the past 8 months go?The past eight months )

<3
omi_ohmy: (Winter branches)
Just this very moment I have decided to write a ficlet (at least) each month. A little piece of writing to celebrate (or bemoan) the passing of the year, and a chance to play in the HP world.

I'm hoping that by posting this here, I'll keep myself accountable. *crosses fingers*

Keep your eyes peeled for January...
omi_ohmy: (Winter branches)
I wanted to post about writing - looking back over last year, and ahead - and I wanted to post about erised, so here is one squished-up post about them both.

First, erised )

And onto my writing )

And let me just finish by wishing you all a belated Happy New Year, and lots of <3 for all being so wonderful.
omi_ohmy: (Leaf)
I wrote The Snitch-Maker for this years HD Career Fair. As I said in my A/N I rewrote it about four times, until I settled on Draco's PoV rather than Harry's. After that it all fell into place.

A huge thank you to [livejournal.com profile] birdsofshore for pre-reading, and to [livejournal.com profile] icmezzo for doing a great beta (and helping me untangle the tangled bits of the story).

I was hugely inspired on the Snitch-making front by this bbc interview with / video about a scissor-maker (US-friendly link) - such wonderful craftmanship and gentle intensity about getting his work just right. I watched it umpteen times while writing the story. :)

Title: The Snitch-Maker
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Content Notes: Small disability for Harry (permanently injured knee)
Summary: Draco is content with his Snitches, with the tap tap tap of his hammer, and the tiny gears and sharp scent of metal in his workshop - until one day Harry Potter appears, asking for help to solve a rash of Snitch-tampering in the Quidditch world.

I'm sure no one noticed that I was gone, but I haven't been on LJ for a while. Partly because it was the summer and I was busy with my kids etc, and then partly also because I forgot my password. I got pissed off with myself because I'm always having to change it due to my rubbish memory. So instead of resetting it this time, I kept trying to remember it and then getting locked out of even trying to log in. Anyway, I remembered it! My brain is not a useless sack of shit, after all!

For some reason I have been swearing loads this week. I have no idea why, but people keep going all saucer-eyed around me and commenting on it. I guess normally I don't swear much. Aloud, anyway...

Back to my LJing. )
omi_ohmy: (Dandelion head)
I thought I'd better claim my Smoochfest fic. I had so much fun writing this, and it felt good to be writing again after quite a long break. I actually wrote this as a pinch hit (it makes no difference to how long I take though) so I wasn't expecting to write for Smoochfest, but I'm so glad that I did! I'm writing so much less at the moment, but when I'm actually in the middle of a fic it feels like I've never stopped. Anyway, I have a soft spot for Harry working with his hands and had always wanted to retell a fairy tale. And I became quite obsessed with pottery while writing!

This photo, in particular, inspired me )

Title: Another Sun That’s Brighter Still
Summary: Draco’s parents are trying to force him to marry – just because of some stupid family curse – but Draco isn’t willing to settle for second best. After rejecting one suitor too many, he’s handfasted to a stinky and ragged minstrel and sent off without a Knut to his name.

Author's Notes: I’ve always had a fascination for stories like King Thrushbeard (The Taming of the Shrew is another that springs to mind) despite a sense of unease around some of the themes. Writing this story was a great chance to work out what I like about the trope, and to write a story that I can be happy with. I wanted, I realised, to focus on a humility without humiliation. I hope I’ve managed it. The two songs quoted in the fic are the Neapolitan song ’O Sole Mio (from which I’ve also taken the title), and Do The Hippogriff, from the Goblet of Fire film.

Thank you to my prereader [livejournal.com profile] indyonblue, and to my beta [livejournal.com profile] evilgiraffe. And thank you to the wonderful mods to this fest, who are always so helpful and, ahem, generous.

Another Sun That's Brighter Still (on AO3)

ETA: I've been on painkillers and antiobiotics all week, and my poor head is all over the place, otherwise I would not have forgotten to link to [livejournal.com profile] dustmouth's amazing little sketches for my fic (and others - they are all wonderful)! I am so lucky and honoured that she chose to illustrate my fic. <3
omi_ohmy: (B&W tulips)
Hello, everyone! I am back. Back from the land of RL and of not-working laptops. It has been so long since I last posted on LJ that I have three fics to claim. Anyway, my laptop has just been repaired (by a lovely man who chatted and drank coffee with me) and the sun is shining and spring is in the air. So, happy Omi.

This year I've decided not to sign up for any fests (well, not unless a prompt really jumps out at me). I've been thinking through and dealing with various RL issues - such as retraining, career-wise - and have needed to take a bit of a step back from fandom to have the mental space as well as time to do so. The good news, though, is that I've got a few fic ideas bubbling away, and maybe even an OF idea, too. Plus my RL is a bit more sorted now. Anyway, taking the pressure of deadlines away has been liberating, and I'm looking forward to getting back into writing. I think I've reached a point anyway where I want to try developing my own ideas for stories, rather than needing a prompt to get me started. We'll see how it goes...

Three fics by me )

And to finish, one fic rec.

A Few Brief Moments by [livejournal.com profile] disapparater is the most wonderful remix of / prequel to my fic Sleeping Dragon. I cried when I read it because it was so perfect, both as a remix of a fic that was emotional to write, but also as a lovely fic in its own right. There is a wonderful sweet poignancy to the fic, along with such a strong sense of love, and it is everything I could have wanted for my boys. If you haven't already, rush along and read it now. :)

.
omi_ohmy: (Winter branches)
I've been busy with family and Christmas and eating (OMG, the food! I am a little worried that if I make any sudden movements I may actually explode), otherwise I would have written this post sooner. My [livejournal.com profile] hd_erised gift was amazing. I was sold even before I opened the link to the art on AO3, thanks to the warning for 'half finished happily ever afters'. But then when I did open the link (whilst sitting with my family on Christmas day) I squealed and jumped up, then had to keep my hyperventilating to a minimum.

There's a deceptive simplicity to the art, to the black and white world of pencil lines. The story-telling is similarly pared back, pining and longing told through glances and half-uttered sentences. And yet there is a real emotional punch to the story, to the idea of tentative, awkward beginnings, all wrapped up in shyness. I think it is a perfect example of 'show not tell', and wonderfully filled with Harry/Draco feels, and most of all, it's beautiful. To read, to look at, to admire for hours on end while ignoring your family. Although that last but might just have been me, lol.

I love Harry's messy hair, and Draco's pointy pining face, and the sea and the grass and the group of friends and.... well, have a look for yourself if you haven't already.

Shoreline, by currently-anon.

I just want to finish by saying thank you, mystery artist, for making something so perfect for me. I can honestly say that this was one of my best Christmas presents this year. :)
omi_ohmy: (Winter branches)
Merry Christmas!

Here's a little epilogue for you. I've really enjoyed writing this, and will miss these boys. Thank you to everyone who read along as I posted! I will probably have a bit of a read through myself and tidy this up, then repost on AO3 etc.

I've been thinking about the title: how about 'Twenty-four Reasons to Remember'? Or is that lame? (No idea).

Enjoy your day, whatever it brings. <3

Summary: Harry has almost forgotten what it is to be happy in love and life, until Draco gives him twenty-four chances to remember.

Happy Christmas! Santa has been and I wrote this with stockings and a half-eaten mince pie balanced on the mantelpiece for company. I got to memory twenty-four! I'm so pleased to have got this far. I've written a little epilogue-y but that I'll post in the morning. Thank you for reading along. :)

BTW, if you're reading this with your mum in the room, don't let her peek over your shoulder. Smuttage ahead... (Also, if this matters to you, I've gone for my more switchy-tendencies. Sorry!)

In other news, I lost my hat today. I would be sad, but it was only a hat and now I have an excuse to knit another one.

Non-fluffy, very late advent, parts 15,16 & 17. )
omi_ohmy: (Winter branches)
Sorry about my absence. My son was ill, all he wanted was his mummy (certainly not any of that nasty medicine that might actually make him feel better, no matter how it was presented/disguised), and Mummy definitely wasn't allowed to ever open her laptop. I spent three days knitting myself a hat and watching children's TV. And I learned that sleeping on the tiled kitchen floor is not as bad as it sounds and can be very cooling when you have a fever. So, that's something.

And then I spent the next few days catching up on all the things I'd had to leave undone while I sat with him. As this is the week leading up to Christmas, this involved a lot of rushing around and stressing. I have fallen so far behind with my reading and my writing, but I'm going to try as hard as I can to catch up with both over the next week or so.

I had hoped to catch up entirely before posting, but I will have to do it in stages, so I hope you enjoy days 12-14, with days 15-16, and then 17 and 18-20 to follow. I would like to finish this by Christmas Eve, but being realisitic it might be a little late. That said, I will try!

Unfortunately, titles don't usually come to me until I finish writing a fic, so this may end up bearing the current lame-ass working title until it's done. Originally my working title was 'Stupid, Useless Words', which I felt was a tad too negative for an advent fic. Er, any suggestions on postcard, please! Or in a comment below. Although I may still waver until it's done, because I'm like that.

Um, just ignore all the typos. It's late.
